FT3 – From Testing to Targeted Treatments

In 2024–2025, GPON and FT3 collaborated on a multi-phase initiative to advance the role of oncology nurses in precision medicine through global engagement and co-creation. Interviews with GPON nurses from across the world captured real-world challenges, needs and opportunities in precision oncology practice. Building on these insights, three global online Communities of Practice were delivered in 2025: i) clinical practice opportunities and barriers, ii) education and training, and iii) advocacy. These interactive sessions mobilised global nurses to share lived experience, identify resource and communication gaps, explore innovative educational models and strengthen nurses’ roles in clinical decision-making, patient advocacy, and policy influence. Participants co-created actionable strategies adaptable to diverse healthcare contexts, reinforcing the value of global collaboration. The partnership is currently publishing these findings and defining next steps for strengthening oncology nursing leadership in precision medicine.
